Beauty and The Fool

Eugene de Leastar

05.06.26 - 27.06.26

This exhibition explores the idea of beauty, alongside the archetype of the fool as jester and truth teller.

Working between Chioggia, a coastal town south of Venice and on the foothills of Slievenamon, Co. Tipperary, Eugene de Leastar has compiled a series of portraits and nudes, together with sculptures in bronze and terracotta.

In an accompanying story, 'Beauty and The Fool', the artist relates his works to Dostoevsky's novel 'The Idiot', where the hero, on the edge of madness, briefly perceives the true nature of reality.
