Marine Kearney

artist statement

Born in Paris, Marine Comperatore Kearney is a French-Irish artist based in Clonmel, Tipperary, Ireland. Since relocating to Ireland in 2004, she has developed her artistic voice, exploring both mixed media in her studio and plein air oil painting. This dual approach allows her to engage different sets of skills and capture the essence of her surroundings.

A graduate of the Crawford Art Academy in advanced life drawing, Marine studied under Holly Walsh and participated in the Creative Vision Program with Nicolas Wilton in 2021, 2022, and 2024. Her distinctive style blends soul abstract with contemporary realism, reflecting her experiences of the ever-changing landscapes of her new home.

Living in Knocklofty, where the scenery shifts dramatically throughout the day, inspires her work. “I create pieces that resonate with me,” she explains.

“The essence of my painting reflects my story, capturing moments of joy and evoking childhood memories. My art embodies the happy place I find between the urban and the countryside.”

Through her evocative pieces, Marine invites viewers to experience the beauty and complexity of the landscapes that shape her artistic vision.
