Katie Byrne is an Irish visual artist whose work begins not in the studio, but in her garden. Sowing seeds, watering the earth, and waiting for the first shoots to emerge is an integral part of her practice. Guided by a deep reverence for nature, each flower is cultivated and tended to in her garden in Co. Tipperary. She preserves each flower using traditional flower pressing techniques, which honour both patience and time.

Through this slow and deliberate practice, she transforms flora into lasting imprints of the landscape that nurtured them. Growing her own materials allows her to bring presence and stillness to her work. Through her prints, she invites viewers to pause, breathe, and reconnect with nature.

The Heart Space series explores the immense healing and transformative energy the heart possesses. Just as new shoots emerge from the soil and grow towards the sun, so too can the heart awaken to its own light.
