artist statement
I have been drawing since childhood, although I did not have formal art education. After moving to Ireland, I realised that being an artist can be not only a personal passion but also a meaningful professional direction, which encouraged me to develop my practice professionally.
My work is inspired by nature and animals, as well as by the Irish landscape — particularly its skies, clouds, and the subtle changes of light during sunrise and sunset. I am interested in how natural elements coexist with human environments and how moments of calm can be found within everyday urban life. I use a range of materials, including oil, acrylic, and watercolour, choosing each medium for its expressive and emotional qualities. I especially enjoy working with oil paint, exploring its depth, texture, and sensitivity.
The Urban Canopy theme resonates with my practice through its focus on shelter, connection, and the presence of nature within urban spaces. I see the canopy not only as a physical structure but also as a symbolic space — a place of protection, reflection, and balance between the natural and the built environment. My work reflects this idea by exploring organic forms, natural movement, and quiet visual moments that offer a sense of refuge within contemporary surroundings.
Alongside my personal practice, I continue to study and experiment with new techniques, allowing my work to evolve and move toward a recognisable personal style that combines natural beauty with a contemporary visual language.
